btw, this is all from a video series i saw. and a summery. obviously i only tell the important parts.
the game officialy starts with the new guy, roach. and a whole bunch of british SAS assaulting a nuclear launch facility in northern russia. you run in with an AUG, and witness a nuke launch. unlike the exact same thing in cod4, the SAS dont do s*** about it. a spaceman looks at it, goes "AAAAAH F***!" Then the US gets nuked.
educated guess says that hours later, russians invade nuked DC. helicopters fall from the sky, and marines are there for some reason. they go through obliterated city, tear jerking moment. your team enters the white house, kills terrorists, and signals extraction. marines are excited to invade moscow, and kill macerov. thats what MW3 is for. MW2 is about killing an american general. oh well, i didnt care about russia nuking us either...
SAS raids a safeiouse in afganistan. looking for some russian terrorist leader. they find a computer and download files from it.
unfortunatly, you just downloaded all of macerovs p*rn, and the cyber terrorists want that more than you. while you download important stuff, you need to camp to kill random people. a character nobody cares about dies.
You go outside, and see the US army rangers already secured the area. you hug general shephard, but he shoots you and gaz... i mean ghost... throw you both away, and burns you both.
i personaly think shephard is angry...
apparently the rangers are evil. and now your attention goes to shephard, instead of the terrorist that nuked the worlds super power, wich btw, im confused about. in COD4 you killed all the bad terrorists, now macerov comes is. after mw3 ends, there better be some awsome s*** that explains what happened...
soap and price become friends with macerov, and join together to kill shephard. they escape a battle using epic skills to get a jeep into a moving plane.
to save you stupid bullcrap, i'll explain what shephard says in the end. he basicly says his 30,000 men died, and he wants to nuke russia back. but thats evil for some reason...
price and soap are in afgan again, and tell nikolai they will likely die. they enter a random compound, and stop shephard from bombing macerov. shephard gets angry and wants you dead. stuff explode.
according to price, history is a lie. just like cake. cake is a lie... shephard will lie to make history on his side, IF he lives. ig he dies, truth comes out. IDK ask infinity ward...

you get stabbed, price gets his a** handed to him from an old dude, and your chest hurts.
the most anti-climatic event ever happens, you take the knife out of your stab-proof-vest, and fling it and the poor old guy with altimers.
nikolai comes in, and sags that mw3 is coming out in 2011. so dont die...
